Great acoustics and a supportive crowd. Players have done everything from Lotta Lenya to Steve Goodman. Many original singer-songwriters, as well, with music that you will never find anywhere else. Norm, the soundman, also plays and sings as close as you get to 1960's Chicago folk, and he's now one of the last to do so. So if you like very new, very original and also very authentic acoustic guitar and singing, this is your Sunday afternoon spot!

Bill's has the best local sound system for open mic's hands down. The listeners really listen, and are very supportive.

I have participated in this open mic since last fall. There is an eclectic mix of entertainment each Sunday night. There have been storytellers, a teenager studying circus and juggling, a 5 year old who sang a Tom Paxton song, blues, singer/songwriters and artists who just drop by from time to time. A warm atmosphere to get some on stage experience or work out some new things for performance. Quite a comfortable venue. Times are 4pm to 6:30pm. At 7pm, there is a featured folk perfomer and participants in the open mic are invited to stay for a 50% reduction in the $10.00 cover for the concert. Performers at these events have included Chris Walz, Barbie Silverman and the Teflons, Tom Dundee and Claudia Schmidt. Very comfortable and encouraging for participants!

BYO instrument. There is a piano with a non-functional middle C last I was there. Friendly crowd ranges from amateurs to pros trying new material and to make a name for themselves, some very good. Bill's blues also has a blues jam night and a jazz jam night for intrumentalists.

Bill’s Blues is a very friendly place to play and lesson with a good verity of music. Nancy and friends are excellent hosts. First timers and veterans are welcome and made to feel at home. A non smoking place to enjoy a lazy Sunday evening sipping a beer with good entertainment to boot. Mostly acoustic.
