The signup time for this open mic has been moved to 8:30PM. Open mic runs from 9PM 'til 12:30AM. We are now starting the evenings with a paid "feature act" between 8PM and 9PM. Originals are encouraged, but not required of open mic participants. Feature acts, on the other hand, are expected to perform at least 50% original material (songs or instrumentals.)
Gary Hall, host (5/2008): Original songs and instrumentals are encouraged, but not required. (It was "originals only" for the first few years after we started in January 2000. I've since abandoned that rule to quit disappointing the uninitiated, and to be more consistent with the Barking Spider's other open mic which falls on the 4th Tuesday.)
Gary Hall (4/2008): First Tues is all originals, fourth tuesday is open to everyone. I don't do originals so I go the fourth Tuesday.
Randy Martin (5/2006): This is the classic player's club. Horizontal shape, permanent stage and sound system and mini-lights. Always good performers with a great range of styles. I've made quite a few friends here. Of all the places I play, I sound the best here so it has a great spot in my heart. This place is straight from the movies. You'll love it. Generally an older, more accomplished group of performers than at the coffee houses.
