The host is really good , but the crowd almost never seems interested. Which is a shame because some of the acts are tremendous. Also seating is hard. But they do have a 2nd level upstairs where the musicians can hang out.

Ben (4/2008): Hello. I'm the host of the Baja Bean Open Mic, and I'd love to share the details with you. It's been going on for approximately 12 years. The show is every Monday night. Signups are at 8:30pm, and the show starts at 9:00pm. Every show is recorded, and I will e-mail folks MP3 versions of their sets free of charge. We have a PA with Mics and direct instrument inputs. The room has a great natural reverb, and the crowd is very supportive. Thanks!
