I'm a comedian, and since they do spoken word, I've gotten to go up. I like the crowd, it's better than most other open mics I've gone to, but then again, most open mics I've gone to are comedy ones, and waaay different crowd. I always enjoy it there, and the jazz beforehand is great!

The venue is very cool. I've been there several times to watch live jazz. However, I haven't been there for the open mic night, but will try it soon.

The list of performers can be quite long, and the audience tends to diminish as the night goes on- arrive a bit early to get signed up. Many people in the bar are disinterested in the music.

The host for the past two weeks has been a "professional" and many aren't happy with the changes.

What was previously a crowded open mic list now looses 5-7 slots for their "feature" performer to get up and plug their gigs and albums and what not.

Getting to be too much of the Hip-Hop "poets" for my taste.
