joan szoc (4/2008)- Just show up 30 minutes early, introduce yourself to Mike and you're good to go. He provides everything - amps, drums, percussion instruments, keyboards. The scene is definitely a neighborhood bar, and the regulars are very friendly.
Fred Bement (4/2008)- one of the best open mikes in central mass, best in Worcester. Mike Michaels is a saint for all enthusiasts and musicians giving them a starting point where they can get their chops down hone their craft and launch off to be professional musicians.I was lucky to be around when He started the thing up after his departure from the Willie "T-bone" Smith band. Im a working musician in San Francisco now and I highly recomend thursday and saturdays for all interested in good music!
Ronnie Kennedy (8/2007)- forget thursday nights if your not a regular. I was in there several weeks ago and the same thing happened that's happened the last 2 times I visited on Thursday. Stage gets monopolized by the same few guys. I dunno, maybe they're a house band or something but the harp player/singer seems quite territorial, dare I say entitled? Saturday nights are better. Mike M, the host is approachable, friendly and fair in terms of fitting folks in. Diverse crowd, Definitely a dive bar… It ain't Gilreins but it works
rocko (2/2007)- I have played 3-g's 3 or 4 times and i must say that this is one of the best open mic's around. The mc, mike is an absoulute professional and a sweet heart. He is patient, fair, a very talented musician and extremely supportive to all acts. The room itself is big and the crowd is very supportive. The sound sytem is good but they need monitors. Great place for anyone to try new material or just jam. All styles.
